This is the second mode generated form the Harmonic Minor scale.
The Harmonic Minor scale differs from the Natural Minor scale in that the seventh note is sharpened.
The Locrian Mode is the strangest sounding of all the Diatonic Modes and this is perhaps why it is also the least used in modern music
Because it is so agreeable tonally and because of it's slightly jazzy feel, it is one of the most commonlyused scales in jazz.
The Aeolian Mode produces a sad, dark, somber mood, without being jazzy or particularly ethnic sounding
This scale produces a light, airy, jazzy feel with an element of strangeness, which is always good.
This scale produces a mood that is dark, Spainish, mideval, and possibly evil. It is a quentissentially Spainish scale.
Dorian is a Minor Mode. It differs from the natural minor in that it has a natural ratherthan a flat sixth.
The scales were adopted by the Catholic Church in the middle ages, and many music theorists suggesed how they should be organized.
