The 7th mode of the melodic minor is a scale called the Super Locrian.

This is one of the scale names that I used to make fun of from way back, cause it sounded so ridiculous. Well here we are demystifying what was before an impossible conundrum.

Now we see that the superlocrian scale is reminiscent of the whole tone scale and others that create a sense of confusion and tonal ambiguity.

Also, try playing playing this scale over chords that have dissonant intervals such as the ones listed below in chord applications.

A simple way to describe this scale is that every note is flat except for the tonic note.
