Scales of the World
Menu

This is the third and last in a series of Eastern scales that we have called Oriental 1, 2 and 3.
The Oriental 3 scale is very similar to the oriental 1 scale but differs only in that it has a flat second instead of a sharp second.
It is a Dominant scale type.
This scales beautiful tonality belie it’s Eastern roots.
It is vaguely similar to the Phrygian mode, however the the step and a half gap between the second and third tones give this scale a much more exotic feel.
Enjoy!
