Oriental 1

This scale scale is one of two eastern scales that is variously referred to by Westerners and Western texts as “the Oriental scale”. For the sake of convenience, let’s call this scale Oriental 1.

This scale has a wonderful bluesey quality to it that comes from the four note chromatic run between it’s second and fifth tones.

The 3 flat notes at the top of the scale ensure it’s exotic edge.

Though quite strange, you may find the mood of this scale to be pleasant and agreeable.
