6th Mode Melodic Minor

This scale is commonly heard in the folk songs of the Middle East as well as Turkey and Hungary, where it is known as Shur.

The Aeolian Mode produces a sad, dark, somber mood, without being jazzy or particularly ethnic sounding

Dorian is a Minor Mode. It differs from the natural minor in that it has a natural ratherthan a flat sixth.
